Over six hundred people participated in the third edition of “Elly Fanchini Day,” the charity event organized at Passo del Tonale to remember Elena Fanchini, three years after the unfortunate Italian skier passed away.

The initiative, promoted with solidarity purposes together with some of her former teammates, saw the presence of great personalities of Italian skiing of yesterday and today, and among them was also Federica Brignone. The two-time gold medalist at the Milan Cortina Olympics participated in this event for the first time.

“Honestly it was very emotional, it’s the first time I come here to the Elly Fanchini Day, it’s very important to carry with us the memory of Elena, of the example she gave us and the strength she had – Federica said. The most beautiful thing is to see so many people who loved her, who loved the Fanchini family and what they were able to bring: the passion for this sport, which is what Elena always had. We are all together, it was a day of remembrance however happy.”

Among the champions was also Laura Pirovano, fresh winner of the downhill specialty world cup: “It’s a magnificent day, to be able to remember our dear Elly doing what she loved most and what we shared a lifetime is something special.”
