Over six hundred people and lots of excitement at'Elly Fanchini Day

Emotion, great participation and strong civic sense characterized the third edition of the “Elly Fanchini Day,” the charity event organized at Passo del Tonale to remember Elena Fanchini, three years after her death.
More than six hundred people, including fans and families, took part in the non-competitive giant slalom race, creating a day of sport and sharing open to all ages.
The initiative, promoted with solidarity purposes together with some of her former teammates, saw the presence of big names of Italian skiing of yesterday and today such as champions Deborah Compagnoni, Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia and Laura Pirovano. The most touching moment was the remembrance of the unfortunate athlete: sisters Nadia and Sabrina Fanchini brought a symbolic image to the track, accompanied by the notes of Irama’s “Ovunque sarai,” in an emotionally charged atmosphere that culminated in a long applause.
The day closed with a charity auction of sports memorabilia donated by snow athletes. The proceeds will go to cancer research, in a spirit of solidarity that continues to be at the heart of the initiative.
