Sofia Goggia is grateful to Elena Fanchini

More than six hundred people participated in the “Elly Fanchini Day,” the special charity event organized at Passo del Tonale to remember Elena Fanchini, now in its third edition.
Three years after the death of the unfortunate Italian skier, many personalities and big names of Italian skiing from yesterday of today gathered. Many Italian champions were present at Tonale, among them Federica Brignone, Laura Pirovano and Sofia Goggia.
The skier from Bergamo wanted to speak gratefully about the event: “It’s a day to which we all come super gladly. This was the third edition of this memorial of Elly Fanchini ,who is a companion who gave us so much both on the slopes and outside in life, and so it’s a nice occasion to see us all, remembering her,” the SuperG champion said in a video released by the Pontedilegno-Tonale consortium.
At the event was also present a very great champion of the past, Deborah Compagnoni: “This day is of great value for the messages it brings. There is the memory of Elena but through her there is a very important closing of the season for skiing for children,” highlighted the former Azzurra.
“The purpose is not only the competitive aspect but being together, living the sport in a proper way. And then it’s nice to have the presence of these great champions, who teach so much through their story and their path that sport anyway gives you so much strength in life.”
