The final will be Imoco Conegliano-Numia Vero Volleyball Milan

For the second year in a row, and for the fourth time in its history, Numia Vero Volley Milan won access to the Scudetto Final. The team coached by coach Lavarini, ahead 2-1 in the series, took advantage of the home court factor and overcame Savino Del Bene Scandicci in Game 4 with a score of 3-1 (28-26; 19-25; 25-21; 25-22), thus closing the semifinal discourse.
Great protagonist was captain Paola Egonu, authentic leader of the evening and MVP of the match thanks to 35 points scored with 54% in attack. Anna Danesi’s contribution at the wall was also decisive, with 7 blocks that extinguished the Tuscan team’s comeback attempts.
The start of the match saw Milan start with some difficulties, forced to chase until the middle of the first set. Changing the inertia is Egonu, awarded before the match as best scorer of the regular season, who drags the team with 12 points in the partial and signs the decisive balls in the final point-to-point. The second set remains in balance until 18-18, but Scandicci, dragged by Skinner and taking advantage of an offensive drop by the Lombardy women, manages to bring the match back to a tie.
From the third set on, however, the match takes the direction of Milan. The hosts always stay ahead in the score and, thanks also to a brilliant Khalia Lanier, able to engrave with continuity, keep their opponents at a distance. In the fourth quarter they still proceeded in tears, but it was the Milanese wall that made the difference in the key moments, allowing Numia to close out the match and qualification.
In addition to Egonu and Lanier, Rebecca Piva with 12 points and Anna Danesi with 11 also finished in double figures, while the defensive work of Eleonora Fersino was also fundamental, precious in allowing Bosio to better manage the rebuilds. On the other side of the net, good performances by Avery Skinner (17 points), Linda Nwakalor (14) and Antropova’s 26 points were not enough to extend the series to Game 5.
Now Egonu and her teammates will have a few days to recover before returning to the court for the Final: Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at Palaverde in Villorba, where the defending champions Imoco Conegliano will be waiting for them.
