Torino seeks solution for bulky redundancy

With 8 games to go in the league, Torino is 14th in the standings with 33 points, the result of 9 wins, 6 draws and 15 defeats. Granata fans expected more from the team, and the first to pay the price was Marco Baroni, who was exonerated at the end of February after averaging 1.20 points in 30 matches and replaced by Roberto D’Aversa.

The club is already working to try to fix the team, and one of the big issues of the summer session will be that of goalkeeper. Franco Israel has disappointed expectations and Gianluca Petrachi is looking for a buyer for the bulky redundant: the Uruguayan extreme defender arrived under the Mole last summer from Sporting for 4 million euros and so far with the granata jersey he has collected 10 appearances and conceded 18 goals.

Gianluca Petrachi is looking for a buyer for the 2000-born goalkeeper and hopes to recoup the investment made not even a year ago. Alberto Paleari, 33 years old with a contract expiring in 2027, is expected to return next season as a second and there are two strong candidates for the starting role: Lorenzo Montipò and Wladimiro Falcone.

Hellas Verona and Lecce will authorize the transfer of the two goalkeepers only in case of relegation (the Scaligeri are penultimate on 18 points, the Salentini third-last on 27), but for Falcone there is also the problem of the cost, which will certainly not be less than 7-8 million euros.
