Italy down to 10 men from 42′ of the first half of the World Cup play-off with Bosnia-Herzegovina. In Zenica, there was an icy shower for the Azzurri, who were ahead by one goal thanks to Moise Kean’s goal: Memic eluded Gattuso’s defense and Alessandro Bastoni was forced to knock him down at the edge of the area.
Referee Turpin had no doubts and immediately sent off the Inter defender, who walked off the field with his head down. The Azzurri initially protested the referee’s decision, but the measure appeared to be fair.
Coach Gattuso reacted immediately, removing a striker, Retegui, and inserting a defender, Gatti. Italy prepared to suffer.
