Inter market, Marco Palestra in the balance: alternative path already ready

Inter continues to work ahead of next season, focusing increasingly on the renewal of the outside lanes. Marco Palestra remains the management’s stated dream, a target that Marotta and Ausilio have been chasing for months and who would represent the symbol of the new Inter that Cristian Chivu envisions for the future. However, the negotiation is not easy: competition is strong, the costs are high and the position of Atalanta, owner of the card, leaves no immediate room for maneuver.
It is in this scenario that the most concrete alternative is taking shape, which instead leads to Moussa Diaby. The French Al-Ittihad external player, already followed insistently in the winter window, is considered by the technical staff an ideal profile for his characteristics and immediate impact. According to reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri club is reported to be back in contact with the player’s entourage, who would be Chivu’s most liked name among the alternative options to Palestra.
In January, Inter seemed to have come very close to the 1999-born player, but Al-Ittihad had closed any glimmer, even refusing a loan with right of redemption. The situation, however, could also change in light of the international situation, which could lead many European players to choose the return route. In that case, Inter would be ready to re-enter decisively, on the strength of the contacts already initiated in recent months, to close the negotiation definitively.
If it is true that Palestra is the number one choice, it is also clear that the Inter management does not want to be found unprepared. Should the track leading to the talent currently on loan at Cagliari become even more complicated, Diaby would immediately become the first choice, considered much more than just a plan B.
The Palestra dossier thus remains on the table, but Inter wants to move pragmatically. The management knows that the market can change direction quickly, which is why it has already identified Diaby as the most credible alternative solution. It will be the evolution of the coming weeks that will determine which road will actually become viable with fewer obstacles on the horizon.
