Inter market, possible renewal for a senator: needs Chivu'ok

Inter is already at work to set up a quality roster for next season. As is well known, so many players on the current roster have expiring contracts. It seemed that the various Acerbi, de Vrij, Darmian, Mkhitaryan and Sommer were destined to pack their bags and say goodbye to the Nerazzurri club, but instead, at least for one of them, the situation would change overnight.

If in the case of Mkhitaryan, the choice to stay or leave (perhaps choosing to retire) mainly concerns the Armenian, the question related to Sommer’s future involves Chivu. The Nerazzurri coach could push to convince the club to retain the 1988-class goalkeeper for one more season, so as to use him as a nurturer for the new Nerazzurri number one.

Sommer, who arrived at Inter in the summer of 2023, has proven to be a highly reliable goalkeeper. Net of a few mistakes, mainly during this season, his performance has always been high and, moreover, he is highly respected in the locker room. Given that so many senators will be packing their bags in June, having someone like Sommer to manage the newcomers would certainly come in handy.

For his part, the Swiss extreme defender would be very happy to continue his adventure in the Nerazzurri. Clearly, if he would receive important offers to play, as a starter, in some prestigious club he could also decline the possible Nerazzurri offer. However, at the moment, there would be no level clubs ready to step up for him. Another year in the Nerazzurri cannot be ruled out.
