Andrea Dovizioso has no doubts about Marc Marquez’s physical condition

The start of the season in MotoGP for Marc Marquez looks decidedly different than last year: after last year’s Mandalika crash, the Spaniard not only had to miss the last five World Championship rounds, but he could not even do any real winter preparation and that shows on the track. Currently fifth in the rider standings, 93 is trying to regain pace and confidence race after race. Taking stock of his situation is the three-time vice world champion Andrea Dovizioso, who at the microphones of Moto.it showed concern.
The Italian was Marc Marquez’s main opponent between 2017 and 2019, and he has no doubts: “Marc is not one to complain and he is not one to make excuses. So the truth of how he is put and how many problems he has is not known and those who do not support him have never assessed his real physical condition.” In addition, he added without mincing words; “His situation in my opinion is much more serious than it seems.”
According to Dovizioso, if last year the alien with that ‘damn’ arm was able to make a difference, this year after the 2025 Mandalika injury he sees it more difficult: “Last year he managed to win a championship, certainly not at his 100 percent. And maybe with the fall in Indonesia he increased even more this arm limitation that I don’t think is possible to put right.”
The famous number 4 added that there has already been a clear confirmation: “Austin was the definitive confirmation, in a place where he could make a difference, this year he couldn’t.”
On the Aprilia talk, Dovisioso says they are the favorites for this year’s MotoGP championship: “We find ourselves with the two Aprilia riders with a real chance to play it out. The championship is very long, a lot can happen, but they have a great chance because they have managed to improve, the riders are strange and Marc is not 100 percent. It really opens a window.”
