Ulivieri wanted to confirm Gravina: "He should not have resigned"

The head of Assoallenatori Renzo Ulivieri commented on Gabriele Gravina’s decision to resign as FIGC president, “It was a very sad and very quiet meeting. Sad because we had with Gravina, beyond the political discourse, also a personal discourse, a shared relationship. No one agreed with the resignation, it was his choice.”
The FIGC must now start from scratch: “We are in difficulty but not from now. We’ll see, I don’t think these difficulties that caused these resignations stem from two missed penalties. Internally there are other things to be resolved.”
“The future has not been discussed yet because there are elections. The election campaign will start from today and whoever wants to run will run, we don’t know anything yet. There are 90 days of time. Now there will be nominations, whoever wants to run will submit a program and we will analyze it. We will do it as well as all the other components.”
On the possible arrivals on the bench of Conte and Allegri: “It is something that depends on who will arrive as federal president. We judgments at this moment we cannot give any, apart from the speech we made about Gattuso that we appreciated many things, but apart from that we cannot say anything else.”
Gravina “thanked the components for renewing, in public and private form, the closeness and support to his person and informed the presidents that he gladly made himself available to speak at a hearing next April 8 (11 a.m.) in VIl Culture, Science and Education Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to report on the state of health of Italian soccer.”
The federal president at that hearing will give “in the most comprehensive and exhaustive manner possible a report on the strengths and weaknesses of the movement, also touching on some of the issues already addressed in the press conference held after the national team’s match played in Zenica last Tuesday, March 31.”
