The'former Wimbledon king outspoken about the comparison between Sinner and Alcaraz

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continue to dominate the ATP circuit, sharing the tournaments in which they participate, just as they did in 2025. At the beginning of the year, the Spanish tennis player had the upper hand by winning at the Australian Open and Doha, the Azure answered him by dominating in the United States and conquering Indian Wells and Miami without losing a set.
Many insiders are debating who will be more successful between the two, and even Pat Cash, a great former Australian tennis player who won Wimbledon in 1987, wanted to have his say on the matter in an interview on “Off the Court with Greg Rusedski”.
“I’m convinced that for another 4-5 years it will be them sharing the Slams. Who will have more at the end of their careers? I think there won’t be much difference between the two,” said Cash, who does, however, make an interesting prediction about the continuation of the careers of the two phenoms.
“When Alcaraz plays his best tennis he is unbeatable. However, I think Sinner may have a longer career for various reasons,” Pat Cash ventured. “In contrast, Alcaraz is more up and down and may suffer some defeats even in the early rounds. Obviously, there can be injuries, but I think Jannik is more consistent.”
“I don’t know which of the two will have more Slams in their trophy cabinet in the end. Probably Alcaraz, however, I think the difference will be small,” concluded Cash, who then pointed to the one tennis player who can challenge the two. “Besides Nole I believe in Jack Draper. I think he is the only one with great power and mental strength, then he just came back after a long injury and immediately beat Djokovic. Novak at any rate still worries them, we know he has something special.”
