Bayern Munich, which will be engaged on Saturday in the Bundesliga at home to St. Pauli, will also have to do without Lennart Karl for the return leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Real Madrid (Wednesday, 9 p.m.). In a statement issued this Friday, the Bavarian club announced that its young striker (18) is suffering from a muscle injury to his right hamstring and will be unavailable for an indefinite period.

Karl had remained on the bench in the first leg of the quarterfinal on Tuesday (2-1 to Bayern at the Bernabéu), but had played the Bavarians’ entire previous game against Freiburg (3-2), during which he was decisive twice (1 goal, 1 assist).

This season, Lennart Karl has played seven Champions League matches and scored 4 goals, becoming the club’s third highest scorer in the competition behind Harry Kane (11 goals) and Luis Díaz (5).
