Jannik Sinner in a hurry, Zverev overwhelmed: goes into Monte Carlo final with impressive statistic

Jannik Sinner ahead of the pack: the South Tyrolean tennis player gained access to the final of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 for the first time in his career. The Azzurro gave no chance to world number three Alexander Zverev: the German tennis player was routed in two sets with a score of 6-1, 6-4 in just over an hour and twenty minutes of play. The Italian was impressive on serve: he conceded just seven points to Zverev on his own serve turnovers.
The champion from Sesto Pusteria has now become a real black beast for Zverev, who has lost his last seven matches against him, the last three in this 2026 alone. On Sunday, the Azzurro goes in the hunt for his first major title on clay against the winner of the match between Carlos Alcaraz and Valentin Vacherot.
The San Candido outfielder is virtually unassailable on serve, is relentless from the baseline, and is excellent in response.Sinner immediately gets the break in the first game, and nets another in the fourth game. Zverev struggles to break free, and the world number two immediately closes out the first partial 6-1, in 35 minutes of play overall.
After the shock start, the second partial is decidedly more balanced: the number three German tennis player on the planet finds himself on serve and gets off to a better start, although Sinner remains impregnable at the serve. It went on without a break until the tenth game, when the Azzurro broke his rival’s serve and scored the victory that qualifies him for the final of the tournament in the Principality.
For Sinner it is the fourth consecutive final in a Masters 1000: on Sunday he could become the first Italian to graduate as champion in Monaco since Fabio Fognini in 2019.
