Italian skiing champion Sofia Goggia attended together with Lombardy Region President Attilio Fontana the inauguration of the last stage of the “Io Prevengo” project. The initiative, promoted by Lilly, aims to make cardiometabolic prevention more accessible, free and close to all citizens. After stopping in the main provinces of Lombardy, the health truck has arrived in Milan, in Piazza Duca d’Aosta, where it will remain until Sunday, April 12. The aim is to promote early diagnosis of diseases and raise awareness of the importance of adopting correct lifestyles. During these days, Milanese and visitors will be able to take free screenings and participate in information sessions.

“Sport has taught me that health is the basis of every performance,” said Sofia Goggia, “but above all of every personal balance. The collaboration with Lilly stems from a shared vision: to put the person, wellness and prevention at the center. Training, listening to your body, taking care of yourself every day are principles that apply as much to an athlete as to anyone. I believe that sport can be a powerful cultural engine, capable of inspiring healthier behaviors and greater awareness: because the real victory is to live well and for a long time, not just to compete,” is the strong message of the champion from Bergamo.

“Initiatives such as this one,” said President Fontana, “show how important it is to invest in prevention and proximity medicine. Bringing free screenings to the squares means intercepting citizens’ needs at an early stage and strengthening a model of healthcare that is increasingly close to people.”

“With ‘Io Prevengo,'” stressed Federico Villa, Associate Vice President Corporate Affairs & Patient Access Italy Hub at Lilly, “we wanted to bring prevention out of the clinics and into people’s daily lives. The final stage in Milan represents not only the conclusion of a journey, but also a starting point to continue spreading an accessible, concrete and participatory culture of health.”
