Juventus market, the future of Holm and Joao Mario may change

At Juventus, Emil Holm is back in the headlines, able to carve out a new opportunity at precisely the most delicate moment. Complicated by the emergency (with McKennie and Vlahovic unavailable), Spalletti chose to bet on him against Atalanta, preferring him to Koopmeiners and deploying him from the first minute on the right flank.

A decision that was anything but trivial, considering the importance of the match in terms of Champions and the fact that the Swede had just returned from a muscle injury. Yet Holm responded in kind, delivering a complete performance: effective defensively (perfect in duels, 8 out of 8 won) and enterprising when there was pressure to push. His, albeit fortuitously, the assist for Boga’s decisive goal, but also several useful initiatives to relieve pressure and accompany the team forward.

According to Tuttosport, until a few days ago, however, his future seemed already written. The hypothesis of a stay in Turin appeared complicated, especially because of the conditions of the agreement with Bologna, which holds his card: 15 million plus 3 million in bonuses for redemption, a figure currently out of reach for the Bianconeri coffers. But soccer, as we know, changes quickly. Should Holm be confirmed in the next seven games, Juventus could also revise its assessments and reopen the dossier.

On the economic level, meanwhile, another situation is also intertwined: that of Joao Mario. The Portuguese, turned on loan to Bologna, has found continuity and performance under Italiano’s guidance, becoming a staple on the right and also putting together two goals between the league and Europa League. His performance has convinced the Emilian club, which is now aiming to retain him.

The idea is to build a sustainable operation (onerous loan with conditional redemption obligation around 9/10 million), shifting the economic impact to 2027. A solution that would allow Juventus to lighten the mountain and generate a small capital gain, freeing up space for possible new graft. And, perhaps, also to invest in Holm himself, should he continue to prove he deserves a place in the project.
