Serie A 2025-2026: Inter-Cagliari, the likely lineups

After reaching a +9 lead over second place, Inter aims to close the Scudetto discourse as soon as possible. At the San Siro on Friday at 8:45 p.m. comes a Cagliari team in difficulty, but reinvigorated by the success of the last round, fundamental for a still delicate standings.
The Sardinian lineup presents itself to the away match with greater serenity, although knowing that the fight for salvation is still wide open. On the other hand, the Nerazzurri come from two heavy victories against Roma at home and Como away, results that have consolidated the leadership but not completely erased the uncertainties of a long and challenging season. Very heavy points are up for grabs: for Inter it would mean getting decisively closer to the Scudetto, for Cagliari an important step toward staying in Serie A.
In the Inter side, Lautaro and Bisseck are still unavailable, while Bastoni has not been called up and Sucic is disqualified. In defense there is room for Carlos Augusto, with Dumfries and Dimarco on the flanks. Forward the offensive pair is formed by Thuram and Pio Esposito.
For Cagliari, compared to the last match with Cremonese, Mazzitelli is missing: in his place Adopo is confirmed. In defense, Dossena returns from 1′ alongside Mina. In front, the ballot between Borrelli and Kilicsoy remains open, with S. Esposito and Palestra in support.
Probable formations
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Akanji, Acerbi, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Dimarco; Thuram, P. Esposito. All. Chivu.
Cagliari (4-3-2-1): Caprile; Ze Pedro, Mina, Dossena, Obert; Deiola, Adopo, Gaetano; S. Esposito, Palestra; Kilicsoy. All. Pisacane.
