Between Roma and Atalanta smiles … Juventus

Saturday’s match between Roma and Atalanta, valid for day number 33 of the Serie A championship, ended with the score 1-1. At the Stadio Olimpico, the Giallorossi responded to the Orobico lead and the two teams returned to the locker room with a point each. A result, this one, that definitely suits Juventus, sure to remain in fourth place with the prospect of being able to stretch on Sunday in a home win at the Stadium against Bologna.
Atalanta’s goal of the lead came at the 11th: Hermoso was anticipated by De Roon, the Dutchman angling Krstovic who with a precise conclusion left Svilar no chance. Roma tried to fight back an important chance came on 23′, when El Shaarawy served Malen in an excellent position and only the timing of Carnesecchi’s exit prevented the equalizer. The 1-1 goal, however, came later, at 44′: Rensch’s bank on Celik’s cross, Hermoso on a turn scored the goal that was worth the equalizer.
The second half remained intense, again with Roma trying to take advantage of the verticalizations towards Malen: not only, however, the goal did not come but Gian Piero Gasperini also had to deal with a couple of injuries, for Mancini first and (among others two minutes after a cross hit by Hermoso) Rensch then. Both the central midfielder and the Giallorossi side are forced to leave.
There is no further excitement until the triple whistle: Roma hooks Como into fifth place in the standings with 58 points, Atalanta remains just behind at 54.
