Nicolas Schiappacasse "missing" in the Amazon

The career of Nicolas Schiappacasse, a Uruguayan who landed at Parma from Atletico Madrid on a one-and-a-half-year loan deal at the beginning of February 2019, took a very peculiar turn. The youngster, who defined himself as a halfback capable of playing with both feet, collected only three appearances with the ducal formation, another one he recorded with Sassuolo, but then he disappeared from the radar of Italian soccer.

In the Old Continent he did not exactly find luck, since after a Portuguese interlude with Famaliçao he returned to his homeland to play with Miramar, La Luz and River Plate of Montevideo. It was a return to his roots for an element who had gone all the way through the national team, even dressing on one occasion for the senior celeste selection.

He was without a team but found one recently: he ended up at Amazonas Futebol Clube, known simply as Amazonas, a Brazilian Serie C soccer club based in the city of Manaus, capital of the Amazonian state. On Saturday night the class of 1999 scored in the 2-0 win with which the black and gold folded the not irresistible Maranhao.

Last season Amazonas was playing in Serie B, they hope to get back there at the end of this championship thanks to the plays of Schiappacasse, one of the many meteors of Italian soccer.
