Season over for a Torino market target

Torino is looking for reinforcements in the defensive department: elements such as Maripan and Marianucci will leave the Granata team in the summer, and the Piedmontese club will return to the market in search of replacements capable of raising the level of the rearguard at Roberto D’Aversa’s disposal.

Among the market targets of Torino executives is 2001-born defender Caleb Okoli. Born in Italy to Nigerian parents and footballingly raised in Atalanta’s youth academy, he moved to Leicester in 2024 for more than 14 million euros.

The English club is in a critical situation and is in danger of relegating to League One, the English Serie C: should they fail to save themselves, the Foxes would put several of their players on the market, and among them would be Okoli, valued at 12 million euros.

The Italian defender will also not be able to help the team in this final season: during training he suffered a serious muscle problem that is expected to keep him out until the end of the season. Okoli will miss the last four league games and could thus return to Italy in a few months.
