Jannik Sinner spoke hotly after dominating Alexander Zverev and winning the Madrid Masters 1000 in a final with no history: the world number 1 needed only 58 minutes to overwhelm the German with a clear 6-1, 6-2 on the red clay of the Spanish capital.

At the end of the match, Sinner expressed all his satisfaction with the level he showed in the final: “I started very well, getting the break right away. Today Zverev maybe did not express his best tennis, but I tried to start strong and take over the match. I am very happy with my level: to win such an important title again means so much to me.”

The Blue then emphasized the daily work behind results of this caliber: “Behind these successes there is work, dedication and commitment every day. Continuing to believe in myself, in every training session, with the right discipline, is what makes the difference. And then there is an amazing team behind me: there is a lot of talk about me, but these results are thanks to all of us.”

During the award ceremony, Sinner also wanted to pay tribute to Alexander Zverev: “You had another great week, even though today was not your best day. I wish you the best for Rome and Paris.”

Finally, the world number 1 thanked his staff, the audience, and the tournament organization, “Thank you to my team for the support and for continuing to believe in me. We are doing something special and I am happy to share this with you. Thanks also to all the Italians who follow me from home for their support, the Madrid audience and the organizers, who make this tournament special and always make us feel at home. Next year I will also try to speak Spanish.”
