International d'Italia internationals draw: Austrian or U.S. for Jannik Sinner
The men’s and women’s draw for the Internazionali d’Italia tennis tournament, edition 2026, scheduled May 5-17 at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy, has been drawn.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, rebounding from his victory at the Madrid Masters 1000, will make his tournament debut in the second round on Friday or Saturday with the winner of the match between Austria’s Sebastian Ofner and the U.S.’s Alex Michelsen.
The third round could feature a match between Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini. Lorenzo Musetti, the No. 8 seed, ended up on the opposite side of the scoreboard from the No. 1 seed. The two could eventually meet only in the final.
These are the matches of the other Azzurri: Musetti, in the second round, against the winner of the challenge between Mpetshi Perricard and a qualifier. Flavio Cobolli, number 10 seed, will take on the winner of the Bergs-Atmane match. For Luciano Darderi, the number 18 seed, one between Hubert Hurkacz and Yannik Hanfmann. The other matches with Italians on the court: Sonego (Ita) vs Buse (Per), Bellucci (Ita) vs Burruchaga (Arg), Berrettini (Ita) vs Popyrin (Aus), Nardi (Ita) vs Qualified, Arnaldi (Ita) vs Munar (Esp), Cinà (Ita) vs Blockx (Bel), Maestrelli (Ita) vs Bautista Agut (Esp), Cadenasso (Ita) vs Tirante (Arg).
In the women’s field, Jasmine Paolini will make her tournament debut in the second round against the winner between Romania’s Cristian or Brazil’s Haddad Maia.
