Great celebration in Cantù. In spite of losing to Treviso, the Canturini have won, mathematically, their stay in the top league. The reason? The defeat accrued by Sassari on the court of Virtus Bologna. After 16 years, Dinamo was relegated to A2 to the despair of its fans who, until the end, had hoped for salvation.

Moments of pure joy, such as winning the Scudetto in the 2014/15 season or, more recently, winning the FIBA Europe Cup (2019), now seem far away in time. On the day of salvation, Walter De Raffaele, Cantù’s coach, wanted to say a few words for an important square like Sassari, convinced that, soon, it will return great protagonist in the basketball that counts.

“At this moment I also want to remember Dinamo Sassari, which is going through some difficult moments. I remember it for the wonderful Scudetto final a few years ago with Reyer Venezia. I am sure that next year it will return to the stage that suits it best,” the words of coach Walter De Raffaele in the press conference.

Special words those of the coach of the Canturini, author of a real sports miracle that came true also thanks to the simultaneous defeat of Dinamo Sassari against the battleship Virtus Bologna.
