The Italian Basketball Federation has released the disciplinary measures imposed by the sports judge after the 14th day back of the Italian top basketball league, played on Sunday, May 3. Two clubs were sanctioned, Germani Brescia and San Bernando Cantù, both for offenses and insults to referees.
GERMANI BRESCIA. Fine of Euro 1,333.00 for collective and frequent offenses directed at referees [art. 27,4bd RG rec., art. 24,4 RG]
S.BERNARDO CANTÙ. Fine of Euro 666.00 for collective and sporadic offenses directed at the referees[art. 27,4bc RG rec.,art. 24,4
Germani lost in Tortona and was joined in second position by Olimpia Milano, while Cantù, defeated in Treviso, is saved by virtue of Sassari’s knockout with Virtus Bologna.
In the Cantù household, the joy for the salvation conquered is already mixed with sadness for an unexpected farewell. The Brianza club has in fact officially announced the early termination of the contract with 28-year-old Xavier Sneed, who has been one of the pillars of the team this season. This is the official statement: “Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù announces that it has reached an agreement with the athlete Xavier Sneed for the early termination of the contract that bound him to the club until the end of the current sports season. Thanking him for the contribution and commitment shown during his experience in biancoblù, the club wishes him the best of luck in the continuation of his career.” A hard blow for the Brianza fans, considering the decisive role the American played in the race to stay in Serie A.
