C'is a former Fortitudo and Olimpia in Virtus Bologna’s crosshairs

Already certain of the first seed for the 2026 Scudetto playoffs, Virtus Bologna is not only thinking about the postseason of the Italian championship: the Bianconeri club, in fact, is also laying the groundwork for the next season, which will see the Vu Nere again involved in the Euroleague (the three-year license will in fact expire in 2028) as well as in the top division of the Boot.
Vicinissimo close to signing the contract seems to be Davide Casarin, who has performed well in his first season at Vanoli Cremona. According to the Bolognese editorial office of ‘La Repubblica,’ in particular, Casarin would be courted by a couple of American college basketball realities but would prefer to avoid, at least for now, the overseas jump, putting himself on the line in a reality that is in any case highly ambitious in Italy and Europe.
There is then another important target for the Virtus market: it is Tommaso Baldasso, who has already passed from Bologna, however, wearing the Fortitudo jersey, in the 2020-2021 A Series. The Piedmontese point guard, who after his experience at Effe was two years in Milan without, however, being able to take the stage, has started again from Tortona, where in the last three years he has raised his numbers.
Baldasso, born in 1998, had signed a three-year contract with Tortona in the summer of 2023, with an unexercised exit clause at the end of the second season. Virtus is ready for dialogue but it is clear that, given the commitments on the parquet of the two bianconeri clubs, a final decision will come only in the coming weeks.
