Fabio Di Giannantonio and his possible farewell to VR46: "Many teams want me"

Fabio Di Giannantonio is experiencing his third season in MotoGP with the VR46 team and has now assumed an increasingly central role in the rider market as well. After a complicated period in which, two years ago, he was in danger of not having a place on the grid, he has managed to relaunch himself with excellent performances and important results already in 2025, concluded as the third force in the home of Borgo Panigale behind the Marquez brothers. This year he has had a positive start: he won podiums in Brazil and Spain, which took him up to third place in the overall standings. Now his future is open: for 2027 he could renew with VR46 or consider other offers, and at the moment KTM would seem to be the most popular one.

Di Giannantonio didn’t hide anything and didn’t deny a possible transfer as early as next year: “I always want to be honest about these things because I don’t want to play games or things like that. At the same time, however, he wants to pay the utmost respect to Valentino Rossi’s team: “We are doing a great job on the track.”

Di Giannantonio also hinted that KTM is not the only alternative: “Many teams want me with them – he said – I know the priorities, but everything is completely open because at the moment I have no certainty,” are the words reported by corsedimoto after the Jerez GP.

The VR46 rider wanted to show maximum transparency: “We are at the fourth race of the year and I wear these colors -he said- until the end of the season, I will wear these colors. And as long as I’m with these colors, this is the best team ever, this is the best bike ever.”

However, a farewell from the yellow team is increasingly likely: “Imagine if I said now that I’m going somewhere else and I have to go to the pits and party with my team. It’s not a good situation. I’m focusing on racing and surely everything will be resolved soon.”
