Marc Marquez arrives at the French Grand Prix after the Jerez crash, which will be held May 8-10. The Spaniard, who is fifth in the World Championship, is experiencing a difficult start to the season with Pecco Bagnaia: in the first four GPs, neither of them has managed to take a win or podium in the long races on Sunday. On race days, however, weather could play an important role in Le Mans, as rain is forecast for the weekend, especially on Friday and Sunday. These conditions could help Marquez, as one of his main characteristics is to adapt very well in ‘mixed’ conditions.

Marc Marquez does not hide his love for the French circuit: “Le Mans is a track I like and where I had already been very fast with the Desmosedici GP last year.” The nine-time world champion also confirmed to Marca that on the race weekend the weather factor will be decisive: “It will be a weekend with many unknowns: the weather could hold some surprises for us. In any case, in Jerez we worked well, because apart from the crash we were competitive and even on Monday in the tests we took a good step forward.”

Even Pecco Bagnaia is optimistic: “I am happy to go to Le Mans; on paper it is a type of track that can bring out the character of the Desmosedici GP to the maximum. The Ducati seems to have finally found that something extra to seriously challenge the Aprilia: “After the subsequent test in Jerez I was satisfied because we tried convincing solutions that can help us on many circuits.”
