All ten matches of the 38th Serie B, the last and decisive round of the regular season, are scheduled for Friday night at 8:30 pm. The first verdict is already in: Venezia has earned direct promotion to Serie A with one day to spare.

Frosinone and Monza are playing for second place for direct promotion: the Ciociari need only a point for the top series, while the Brianzoli must win against Empoli and hope for a simultaneous Frosinone defeat with Mantova.

The third-place finishers are qualified directly for the playoff semifinals as is Palermo, which is sure of fourth place in the standings. Catanzaro, Modena and Juve Stabia are already certain of their playoff spot; the last available playoff spot will be contested by Avellino, Cesena, and Mantova, all on 46 points, as well as Carrarese and Sampdoria on 44. The favorites thanks to the avulse standings are the Irpini, but anything can happen.

Spectacular action at the tail end as well, both in terms of the relegation zone and the playouts. Still playing for salvation are Empoli (40 points), Sudtirol (40), Entella (39), Bari (37), Pescara (34), Spezia (34) and Reggiana (34).
