Luciano Darderi, ugly gesture goes viral: lots of criticism, debate ensues

Friday to forget for Luciano Darderi, who was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by Casper Ruud in the semifinals of the Internazionali d’Italia. The Italo-Argentinian, net of the defeat, ended up in the fans’ crosshairs for a gesture he made upon entering the court and which immediately went viral thanks to a video on social media.

Before the start of the match, the two tennis players entered the court at different times: Ruud entering took a little girl ball boy by the hand, Darderi instead ignored the other little girl who had extended her hand to him, and entered the arena smiling with Armani sunglasses. A gesture that caused discussion and immediately went viral, generating hundreds of criticisms.
