Peppe Poeta spoke in a press conference after the victory in game-1 of the quarters against Pallacanestro Reggiana: “I’m happy, we played a very good game. We approached the game the right way, following the game plan on offense and moving the ball well: this helped us gain confidence. However, we have to file it away right away, because they are a very strong team. There are aspects in which we need to grow, especially on the 13 offensive rebounds conceded. When you are ahead by 15 points, a loose ball has to be won, otherwise the opponents gain confidence. Now let’s think about Monday: it will be a very tough challenge against a team that is organized, tough and never gives up.”

Chapter Keifer Sykes Ellis: “He is not going through a period of particular physical brilliance. He had never played this many games or sustained this level of pressure, both mental and physical. It is a complicated time, but we are confident that over the course of the series he can regain his confidence and brilliance.”

Decisive two-point percentage: “We built a lot of good shots and that makes me very satisfied, especially since we were facing the best defense in the league. We will have to be able to repeat that in game 2 as well.”

He concludes on the risk of underestimating the second game after the wide success achieved: “We will have to be tough and focused. They are a strong team that plays together and defends with great intensity.”
