The promotion to Serie A came at the end of a memorable ride, but for Scafati Basket it is already time to turn the page. After exercising the exit clause in his contract, Frank Vitucci has officially left the yellow-blue bench, and the hunt for his successor has immediately opened in the Gialloblù household.

The Campania-based club, which is preparing for its return to the top league, has initiated contacts to identify the new head coach. Three main profiles are on the table, different in experience and philosophy but sharing an identical ambition: to consolidate the team in the new category.

Piero Bucchi is among the hottest names. Coming back from the end of his relationship with Brindisi, Bucchi represents a guarantee of experience and knowledge of Serie A. His candidacy is liked for balance and ability to manage groups built to save themselves without sacrificing quality. Then there is the track leading to Nicola Brienza, whose name has been circulating for several days already: the Brianza coach is eager to relaunch himself after his exoneration in Cantù this season.

The third option is instead linked to the name of Demis Cavina, a solid and pragmatic profile with experience between A2 and A. He is appreciated for his ability to work with heterogeneous rosters and for the human management of the group, qualities that Scafati considers fundamental for the first year back in the top division.

In the background, a foreign track is not excluded, but only in case the Italian market fails to bring one of the names already on the notebook of the Scafatese management. The final decision is expected by the end of May, when the club will also define the new technical and managerial set-up. After Vitucci’s farewell, Scafati wants to start again with a solid and recognizable project, capable of giving continuity to the growth started in A2.
