Germany, Nagelsmann explains exclusions of Bisseck and Fullkrug: "It' been unfortunate"

The technical commissioner of the German national team Julian Nagelsmann in a press conference made official the list of 26 players summoned to the World Cup in North America: among them are not Milan striker Niclas Fullkrug and Inter defender Yann Bisseck.

On the Rossoneri forward, Nagelsmann justified his decision this way: “For him, the numbers and the performance in the goal area with West Ham and Milan speak, he scored very few goals in the last two years. It is true that we have to consider that with Milan he often had to defend and that he was coming in from the bench, but in the end he did not score much and someone had to stay out.”

Surely more surprising was the exclusion of Bisseck, who won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia with Inter this season. “Players who performed well stayed home. As a coach, I had difficult conversations. I always try to be honest. You can certainly discuss whether that would have been the perfect approach. I would argue that it is important to understand that not all communications can be made public,” Nagelsmann admitted.
