Rafael Nadal returned to talk about Jannik Sinner in the pages of Gazzetta dello Sport: “It is always difficult to imagine a similar level of success and continuity. What he is doing is extraordinarily complicated: he has incredible consistency. Since Australia he has lost only one match, and his string of consecutive wins is impressive. I will say it again: maintaining success over time is one of the most difficult things in sports. That is why I have great admiration for what he is doing and the way he is doing it.”

“How far can he go? What is his limit? Life will determine that. His personality, motivation, physique-these are aspects that are impossible to predict. And then opponents will also count. Right now he seems to have only one rival, Carlos, while the others are further behind, which allows him to play with more serenity. But time will bring new opponents and new difficulties. We shall see.”

“In what has he improved the most? It is difficult to pinpoint a single aspect. He is experiencing a moment of tremendous solidity, both physically and emotionally. I think he has added more variety to his tennis, even putting in some drop shots, but above all today he is a complete player and very stable. Anyone who wants to beat him knows that he has to maintain a very high level for a very long time, and this awareness gives Sinner enormous confidence and assurance. And his opponents clearly sense that,” Nadal concluded.
