The Knicks are one step closer to the NBA Finals. On the night, victory also came in Game 3, at the home of the Cavs, which put New York up 3-0 and, therefore, just one win away from closing out the series and snatching a pass to the Finals (New York has been missing them since as far back as 1999).

In the third act of the series with Cleveland, Brunson was also decisive. The Knicks star finished with 30 points, to which must be added 22 from a sparkling Bridges. The Knicks always had the lead in the game, never giving the hosts a real chance to reopen the series. By winning Game 3, the Knicks stretched to 10 straight games won in these playoffs.

The Knicks can close out the Eastern Conference finals and win their second consecutive series 4-0 with a victory Monday night. New York is the seventh team in NBA history to win at least 10 consecutive games during the playoffs. The last team to do so was the Boston Celtics, who strung together a string of 10 consecutive wins on their way to the 2024 title.

Brunson preaches calm and, most importantly, wants maximum focus on what still needs to be done: “Let’s continue to focus on what we need to do. You need to have everyone focused, make sure everyone is on the right page, make sure everyone is taking responsibility,” the Knicks leader’s words reported by ESPN.
