Massimo Cancellieri already knows his future

Massimo Cancellieri has decided his future. At the end of the season, the Trento coach will leave Aquila Basket, and rumors about his next destination have been confirmed: he will settle in Turkey. As soon as the playoffs with Dolomiti Energia Trento are over (at the moment the series with Virtus Bologna is at 2-2), Cancellieri will be made official as the new head coach of Tofas Bursa.

According to the T Quotidiano, the coach from Abruzzo has finalized all the details of his contract with the Ottoman club: the agreement arrived a week ago and his transfer to Turkey is to be considered certain. Cancellieri in April, when the team was in great difficulty, had terminated by mutual agreement with Trento the two-year contract signed last June, and his farewell to Aquila Basket was already certain.

Despite Trento’s great improvements in recent weeks Cancellieri will therefore say goodbye to everyone at the end of the season to begin his adventure with Tofas: the club from Bursa, a city of three million inhabitants, is looking for a revival after the disappointing tenth place in the Turkish league.

Cancellieri’s future had been the subject of discussion in recent months and there had also been talk of a possible move to Brindisi: however, Trento’s playoff qualification had revived the former Paok Thessaloniki coach’s chances.
