Olimpia Milano: Armoni Brooks, a loss that changes the incoming market

Olimpia Milano is focused on the series, valid for the LBA semifinals, with Germani Brescia but, at the same time, is reflecting on next season. So many players will leave the red and white club. Among them, barring any last-minute surprises, will be Armoni Brooks.

The MVP of the last regular season, a key player in coach Peppe Poeta’s offense, now seems a step away from signing with ASVEL Villeurbanne. The ambitious French club has put a major two-year proposal on the table, with a very high salary for the American (rumored to be 4.6 million for two years).

For Olimpia it becomes honestly complicated to draw such an offer, even knowing that the loss of Armoni Brooks will change the entire summer incoming market. Replacing him will be difficult, not least because Armoni Brooks is perfectly familiar with coach Peppe Poeta’s offensive game.

Simone Fontecchio had been thought of, but the Italian player wants to stay and play his cards in the NBA. The Milanese club will have to be good at finding a player with lots of points in his hands who can play guard like Armoni Brooks. Easier said than done.
