Inter Milan market, Denzel Dumfries’ future could be blanco

Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on Denzel Dumfries, who has been identified as one of the main candidates to take up Dani Carvajal’s legacy on the right flank. Ahead of Sunday’s presidential elections, which see outgoing president Florentino Pérez clearly favored over rival Enrique Riquelme, the name of the Inter Milan outfielder continues to circulate with insistence in Casa Blanca circles.
The Madridians’ interest is said to be concrete and has even received the appreciation of José Mourinho. Making the deal particularly attractive is the rescission clause included in Dumfries’ contract: between July 1 and 15, the player could be released upon payment of about 20 million euros.
For Inter, a possible sale of the Dutchman would represent a major opportunity from an economic point of view. Purchased in 2021 for about 12 million euros, his residual value on the balance sheet today is less than 6 million. A sale at the clause figure would therefore guarantee a capital gain close to 15 million, resources that the Nerazzurri club could reinvest in the market. Among the profiles being monitored for the right flank is Marco Palestra, considered one of the main targets.
From Spain, however, another element is also filtering through: Real Madrid would not be willing to wait too long to define the operation. If the Blancos decided to accelerate before the window provided by the clause, it would be necessary to open direct negotiations with Inter.
On the player’s side, the prospect of moving to Real Madrid would be welcomed and, according to several rumors, there would already be a solid basis for an understanding. At Inter, moreover, the valuation of around 20 million is considered consistent with the current value of the player. For this reason, after the electoral passage scheduled in Madrid, significant developments could come as early as in the next few days.
