Milik recounts his drama at Juve: "I hit rock bottom"

Two games in two years: Arek Milik in an interview with Kanal Sportowy recounted the drama of the injuries that have stranded him in recent seasons at Juventus. The Polish striker revealed that he needed psychological support: “I pondered for a long time whether to rely on a psychologist. I was saying to myself, “Arek but do you really think you can’t cope on your own!” Yet I had to reconsider, I couldn’t do it.”
“I had a big problem at the beginning of 2025, they were not pleasant moments but I don’t think it was depression. I had hit rock bottom. At one time soccer was my escape, and all of a sudden I would go to the gym, work out and burst into tears. It was the first time something like that happened to me. Several times I had to stop my workout and go to the bathroom to vent and cry.”
“One thing I learned: money does not make you happy. I had earned a lot, but I was unhappy.” According to some rumors, Milik may decide to end his career at Gornik Zabrze, where he took his first steps as a soccer player. “I feel sympathy for the club, I’m glad they won the national cup. Whether I will move there? I think it’s too early to talk about that.”
His ordeal had begun in June 2024, when a serious knee injury suffered during a call-up with the Polish national team caused him to miss Euro 2024. After an initial operation, the center forward was back under the knife again, with further complications during rehabilitation-including a trivial gym accident-that had led to fears of the worst on his career. In December 2025 he returned to the field, then some muscle injuries did not allow him to help his teammates in the first months of 2026.
