Jannik Sinner is recharging his batteries in Sardinia, where he is spending a few relaxing days accompanied by an inner circle of friends and girlfriend Laila Hasanovic. The Danish model, who was counting on being at Roland Garros for the hot stages of the tournament, from the quarterfinals onward, has changed her plans and followed the world number one to Palau and the La Maddalena archipelago.

As reported by local media, Sinner is on the island along with Laila, her father, brother and two other friends. The group is spending the days on a boat, sailing among the different inlets and beautiful Sardinian beaches. The Blue appeared serene despite the recent bad experience at Roland Garros, and indulged smilingly in selfies and autographs to fans who recognized him.

The Sardinian sojourn comes after an initial recovery phase spent in Monte Carlo, where Sinner had been spotted riding a Vespa on the streets of the Principality. A break that the world number one had planned to get rid of the physical and psychological stress accumulated during an extraordinary season, culminating with five Masters 1000 won consecutively – including the Internazionali d’Italia, where he had become the first Italian to triumph since Adriano Panatta in 1976 – but closed bitterly at Roland Garros with his withdrawal in the match against Juan Manuel Cerundolo due to an illness.

The choice of Sardinia, and Porto Rafael in particular, does not seem, however, to be dictated by the sole desire for contingent relaxation. According to rumors circulating in the small resort town of Palau, reported by the Unione Sarda, Sinner is reportedly finalizing the purchase of a villa in one of the most striking locations in the famous seaside village, overlooking the coastline and with privileged views of the surrounding landscape. A sign that the link between the Alto Adige champion and Sardinia is becoming increasingly close and structured, with Porto Rafael destined to become an increasingly central presence in his life, thanks in part to the privacy and exclusivity that have always distinguished this pearl of the Gallurese coast.
