Cagliari’s search to identify the ideal reinforcement for the attack continues unabated.

The island club’s market team has been at work for weeks and is skimming the list of special observers to provide Fabio Pisacane with a shortlist from which to choose.

The main target seems to be Francesco Camarda, returning to AC Milan after an unlucky spell at Lecce. The very young center forward scored just 1 goal with the Salento club and has also been out several times due to an ankle problem. AC Milan will in all likelihood sell him on a dry loan and the Diavolo management would prefer to find him an accommodation in Italy to closely monitor his progress.

Cagliari also has its eyes on Bogdan Popov, a 2007 class who scored 5 goals in 24 appearances last season with Empoli between the league and Coppa Italia. Raised in the youth ranks of Dinamo Kiev, Popov played for Zabrze Youth in Poland before moving to Italy. He has great talent and wide margins for growth.

Cagliari’s list of scouts also includes the name of David Romero, a great Argentine promise who with Tigre has recorded 16 and 4 assists in 39 appearances. Also watch out for John Kennedy, Fluminense’s promise who during his loan at Pachuca scored 9 goals in 22 games.
