Milan market, Sergio Conceiçao turns the finger back on Allegri

Just after his experience with Al-Ittihad ended, Sergio Conceiçao returned to speak from Portugal, also dwelling on his time at the helm of AC Milan. The former Porto coach expressed his point of view without particular filters, making a comparison with the Rossoneri’s following season:
“Looking at what happened after us, the six months spent at AC Milan take on a different meaning,” said the Portuguese coach. “The situation worsened: the structure of the club changed, several managers left and even the coach was replaced. Massimiliano Allegri, a highly experienced coach and a former Italian champion, was exonerated despite having collected fewer points than we did.”
In Conceiçao’s words, regret also emerges for not being able to continue the project he started in the Rossoneri. “With my staff we made it all the way to the final of the Coppa Italia. We eliminated Ranieri’s Roma, a team that was experiencing one of the best rounds of its recent history, and then Inter, then a Champions League finalist. In the semifinals, we played a great game, winning 3-0 and winning the final against Bologna.”
The coach then added a reflection on the path accomplished: “The defeat in the final came, but it still remains a final reached. There are those who say that the important thing is to get there; instead, I believe that finals should be won. In any case, during our management we managed to win the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.”
