John Brown III will be the first new addition to Germani Brescia ahead of the 2026-2027 season. The experienced American big man, standing 6’8”, returns to wear the blue-and-white jersey after his stint in 2022, when he helped lead the team to the playoffs.

Born in 1991, Brown is considered one of the best defensive specialists in Europe. Following his time in Brescia, he played three high-level seasons in the EuroLeague, first with Monaco and then with Red Star, before continuing his career in Australia and Puerto Rico.

The Lombardy-based club managed to secure the player, even beating out competition from some financially very attractive offers from Japan. A major deal that, in terms of importance and significance, ends up carrying even more weight than the statements expected in the coming days to clarify the rumors surrounding the Matiasic affair.

Meanwhile, David Cournooh’s time with the Lombardy-based club has come to an end. After four seasons in the blue-and-white jersey, the forward from Villafranca is ready to embark on a new professional adventure, with Libertas Livorno in Serie A2 set to welcome him for the upcoming season.
