Sofia Goggia and the Italian women’s team have finalized their preseason schedule. Federica Brignone’s status remains uncertain.

The Italian Winter Sports Federation has announced the preseason schedule for the women’s World Cup teams, which will once again take place this season on the slopes of Ushuaia, Argentina.
The first athletes to head to South America will be Sofia Goggia, Marta Bassino, and Laura Pirovano: the Italian trio will stay in Argentina for about a month, from Sunday, August 23, to Friday, September 25. The slalom skiers will also train during a similar period, though until September 20. The speed skiers will train from Wednesday, September 2, to Friday, October 2.
The only athlete who has yet to finalize her training plans is Federica Brignone, who, as reported by FISI, has not yet decided whether or not to make the trip to South America with her national teammates.
Among the men, the first to travel will be Giovanni Franzoni on Wednesday, August 12, bound for Ushuaia, Argentina, where he will remain until Tuesday, September 1, to train in the technical disciplines. On that day, the Olympic downhill silver medalist will move to Chillán, Chile, where he will remain until Sunday, September 20, to train in speed events before returning to Italy. The technical disciplines group will remain in Ushuaia from Sunday, August 16, to Friday, September 11, while the speed group will train exclusively in Chile.
