F1: Lance Stroll loses his cool and snaps, “I don’t give a damn”

Right now, no one would want to be an Aston Martin driver—the worst team in all of F1. It was supposed to be their breakthrough season, but so far it’s been a total nightmare.

Lance Stroll knows this all too well as he continues to struggle with a car he has no feel for. And to think he’d have reason to be happy: after 42 “defeats,” he’ll start the Barcelona GP (21st) ahead of his teammate Fernando Alonso.

“We’re last, we know it, and we have to live with it,” said the Canadian driver, who, it should be noted, is the son of the team owner. The frustration is evident. Especially because, unlike the Spaniard, Lance Stroll is still at zero points in the drivers’ standings (Fernando Alonso earned his first point thanks to a 10th-place finish in Monte Carlo).

When asked if anything would change—in terms of his internal rivalry with Fernando Alonso—with a more competitive car, Lance Stroll replied bluntly: “I don’t give a damn.” It doesn’t get any clearer than that…
