Marco Baroni is ready to return to the bench. The Florentine coach had started the season as Torino’s manager but was fired after Matchday 26 and replaced by Roberto D’Aversa; now the former Granata manager already has an opportunity to make a comeback.

Hellas Verona has reached an agreement with his agent: the former Lazio coach will thus return to lead the Verona-based team, after securing their survival in the 2023-2024 season. The goal is the Gialloblu’s immediate return to Serie A, having been relegated at the end of last season.

Baroni will sign a two-year contract with Verona, with an option for a third year in the event of promotion to the top flight. A decisive factor in Baroni’s arrival was the contract extension of sporting director Sean Sogliano.

Throughout his career, which began in 2000, Baroni has coached Montevarchi, Carrarese, Sudtirol, Ancona, Siena, Cremonese, Lanciano, Pescara, Novara, Benevento, Frosinone, Cremonese, Reggina, Lecce, Verona, Lazio, and Torino.
