Official: Marco Spissu leaves Zaragoza; his future lies between Spain and Rome

It’s now official: Marco Spissu is leaving Zaragoza. The confirmation came directly from the Aragonese club, which issued a statement confirming his departure and highlighting the immense talent the Italian point guard displayed while wearing the Casademont jersey.
Among the most memorable moments of his two seasons at Zaragoza was undoubtedly the three-pointer in the final seconds of the game against Rio Breogan that secured Zaragoza’s place in the Liga Endesa. An iconic moment in the club’s history and in the Italian player’s career.
At 31, the Italian national team player must now decide his future. After turning down a lucrative offer from Dinamo Sassari (A2), the point guard is reportedly trying to determine if there are any interesting proposals to continue his adventure in Spain. Over the past two years, he has proven he can play at a high level and is highly regarded in Spain.
If not, he should keep an eye on various offers from Italy. Among these is one from the new Rome-based team, Roma Basket Club, which is looking for a quality point guard to lead the team. Marco Spissu’s experience could prove very useful. Before moving to Spain, Marco Spissu played for two seasons (from 2022 to 2024) with Reyer Venezia.
