Milan Transfer Market: A Turning Point in Luka Modric’s Future

Luka Modric is about to say goodbye to Milan. In recent weeks, rumors had suggested the Croatian midfielder was leaving the Rossoneri, and now confirmation is coming directly from North America, where the player is with the Croatian national team for the 2026 World Cup matches.
““Modric’s future? Something will definitely happen with Real Madrid—I can assure you of that,” said Croatian legend Davor Suker in an interview with Radio Marca. “He’ll definitely return to Madrid, but I don’t know how or in what role. We’ll wait until the World Cup is over and see what happens. I can’t say anything else.”
According to rumors, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner could join José Mourinho’s staff; Mourinho has specifically requested him to bring charisma and experience to the new era about to begin at Real Madrid following the last two forgettable years. If the rumors are confirmed, Modric will play his final matches of his glorious career with Croatia.
The Croatian midfielder’s contract with Milan expires on June 30, and in a post he has already bid farewell to the Rossoneri fans: “A season with good moments and difficult moments, but in the end we have to face the harsh reality and admit that it didn’t end the way we would have liked! I’d like to sincerely thank all the Milan fans for the affection, respect, and tremendous support they’ve shown me throughout the year! Forza Milan.”
