A true tragedy that has left everyone in shock. At Mason Motocross, a motorsports event held last weekend in West Virginia, a 6-year-old boy lost his life. The tragic accident occurred during practice on the Point Pleasant track, as reported by WONK, a CBS affiliate.

According to local authorities, a helicopter arrived promptly at the scene after the accident, but the boy’s critical condition made transport by helicopter inadvisable. It was therefore decided to use an ambulance. The child died at the hospital as a result of his injuries.

“Let us pray for them during this unimaginable time. Our community. Our support. Our prayers,” reads the post on social media by the Mason Motocross organization.

A fundraiser has been set up on Gofundme.com for the family of the young victim. “No family should ever have to endure the pain of losing a child, and during this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together to support them in every way possible. We are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as daily necessities, as the family navigates the days, weeks, and months ahead. “Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow them to focus on grieving, healing, and honoring their son’s memory,” the website states.
