Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil returns to the field: the Verdeoro face Scotland at midnight in a match counting toward the third and final matchday of Group C of the 2026 World Cup in North America. After a draw with Morocco and a convincing win over Haiti, the Seleção sits atop the group on goal difference, but to prevent the North Africans from overtaking them, they must win by a comfortable margin against the British side, which is, in turn, chasing points to ensure it finishes at least third and qualifies for the round of 16 of the World Cup.

However, the desire to score goals could backfire on Brazil: Scotland cannot be underestimated, even if they haven’t particularly shone so far. Adams will lead the line as the center forward, supported by McTominay, who has yet to make his mark in this tournament. Doak and McGinn will play on the wings.

Ancelotti faces many uncertainties without Raphinha and is expected to field the attacking trio of Rayan, Cunha, and Vinicius. Keep an eye on Neymar as well, who has been announced as a late addition. In midfield, Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes, and Paqueta will start, with Danilo and Douglas Santos on the wings.

Scotland vs. Brazil: Probable Lineups
SCOTLAND (4-4-1-1): Gunn; Patterson, Hendry, Hanley, Robertson; Doak, Christie, Ferguson, McGinn; McTominay; Adams.
BRAZIL (4-3-3): Alisson; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, Douglas Santos; Casemiro, Bruno Guimaraes, Paquetá; Rayan, Cunha, Vinicius Jr.
