Cagliari faces competition from Turin and Venice for the low-cost signing

Elia Caprile’s future remains uncertain: the goalkeeper is very happy in Cagliari, but the lure of the big clubs could convince him to leave Sardinia. The star is being targeted by Aston Villa, Feyenoord, and Paris Saint-Germain. A move to Juventus cannot be ruled out either: the Bianconeri are dissatisfied with Michele Di Gregorio and are evaluating various candidates.

To avoid being caught off guard, Cagliari is exploring some options, and among the top targets for the goalkeeper position is Lorenzo Montipò of Hellas Verona. The Verona-based club’s relegation to Serie B could convince the goalkeeper to make a move, and Cagliari isn’t his only option: he’s also being targeted by Venezia and Torino.

The Granata club is in a bit of a hurry: Franco Israel has proven to be a terrible signing (acquired last summer from Sporting, he has made just 10 appearances), and Alberto Paleari is expected to return as the backup. Ignazio Abate has asked Urbano Cairo and Gianluca Petrachi to sign a new goalkeeper as soon as possible.

Also on Torino’s radar is the experienced Dominik Livaković, who is currently playing for Croatia in the World Cup. The goalkeeper’s last season was rather disappointing: his loan stints at Girona and Dinamo Zagreb prevented him from finding consistency, and he is now looking for a new team.
