Inter: Real Madrid Makes Another Push—A Star Player Could Leave

Denzel Dumfries may not be the only player to leave Inter for Real Madrid this summer: the Dutch fullback has been convinced by José Mourinho to join the Blancos’ project, and the Special One reportedly has another Inter star in his sights.

According to As, Real Madrid is determined to sign Alessandro Bastoni at all costs, following a mixed season during which he was at the center of controversy on several occasions (including Pierre Kalulu’s red card and his own red card while playing for the national team against Bosnia, to name just two). Mourinho’s goal is to completely rebuild the Blancos’ defense, and after Konaté, Dumfries, and Cucurella, Bastoni is the number one target.

Inter has known for some time that it could lose the center back: in recent weeks, Barcelona made an exploratory inquiry without, however, making a concrete offer, and several English clubs have also been gathering information.

Piero Ausilio’s asking price for the defender is around 70 million euros, but if the player were to express a desire for a change of scenery, the Italian champions would be forced to lower their demands.
